Brush fencing and gate products are made from Melaleuca Uncinata, an Australian native lignotuber. Brushwood, also known as brush, broom, broombush or brushbox, is a very hardy plant, which is packed with wire and staples to form flat panels.
Brush fences and gates are an attractive natural product. They are virtually maintenance free, environmentally sound and white ant resistant. Further more, they have excellent thermal and noise suppression qualities, making them ideal for urban environments.
Brushwood panels are available in raw form for fences and gates using conventional fence framing and pre framed fence panels and gates. Brush roll finishing covers are used to finish off the fence top. Brushwood fence products can be purchased as a DIY project, or The Fence Barn can supply and install.

Uses
Other than perimeter fencing and gates, brushwood products can be used for dividers, rubbish bin and pool pump enclosures, outdoor entertaining areas, windbreaks and even thatched roofing over pergolas.
The raw panels in particular are very versatile as they can used on sloping sites. They can easily be shaped around tree trunks, over retaining walls and most other obstacles you may encounter.
Environmental
Brushwood (Melaleuca Uncinata) is a hardy plant which grows well in high and low rainfall area in many different soil types. It is excellent for soil rehabilitation and carbon credits.
It’s a renewable resource as the lignotuber can be re-cut many times in the wild and in plantations. The Fence Barn’s brush fence products are sourced from Australian plantations. Harvesting requires little processing and therefore energy input.
