Timber Preservation Treatments

Timber Fencing

Timber fencing is a great choice for boundary, security or privacy fencing. Timber has a long life span, and can provide privacy and noise reduction for your home. All modern timber fencing materials are protected with suitable CCA treatments, to prolong the life span of the fence, against tough conditions.  Timber can also be used in conjunction with other products, creating a stylish feature fence. Timber gives your fence a neutral and natural effect, and blends perfectly with your natural environment.

Add a touch of raw beauty to your home by constructing timber fencing to keep your family safe and secure.

Timber Paling Fences

When budget and functionality are the key considerations, simple CCA treated timber paling fences with timber posts and rails are affordable and practical. Timber palings are available in a range of shapes to add that little extra. Timber fences can be left natural or coated and painted with a wide range of finishes and colours.

The Fence Barn can assist in calculating the materials and cost of the fence before you start, supply all the materials, and erect your fence for you. Alternatively, if you intend to erect your fence yourself we can deliver all the materials to you, or you can collect.

Picket & Decorative Fences

Timber fencing can be created into countless designs and styles. A common type of designer timber fencing is made from a variety of decking materials, such as Merbau or Balau decking 'slats'.

By mixing and matching a series of gorgeous hardwood slats with strong black coloured posts, or sheets of modern day art corrugated iron, you can instantly acheive a unique, exciting and one-of-a-kind fence that your neighbours will envy.

Alternatively, you could cut your decking slats or timber palings into differnet shapes, lengths and angles to create a fun, intersting or stylish fence or privacy screen. For some ideas to get your creative tasetbuds tingling -

Good Neighbour Fencing

The Fence Barn's Good Neighbour fences are becoming increasingly popular. They are an excellent way of providing an aesthetic look with function on both sides and contribute to harmonious neighbourly relationships.

The posts and rails are erected as you would any other fence. The palings are spaced on one side of the fence. The degree of privacy is dependent on the spacing between the palings. On the other side the palings are placed to cover the space on the first side. The spacing is usually dictated by the spacing on the first side.

An added advantage with good neighbour fences is that breezes can easily flow through the fence, the degree of which is determined by the spacing between the palings.

The Fence can supply and erect your good neighbour fence, or supply all the materials for you.

Post & Wire Fences

Post and wire fences are predominantly used in rural applications, and are usually much longer than fences found in suburbia. They are generally required to manage live stock and define boundaries for people.

Cost is a primary consideration, particularly for long fences, which is why simple post and wire strand construction has been employed over many years, and still is. Post hole borers are an efficient and quick method of preparing many holes. Wire strands can quickly be threaded over long distances and strained at the ends.

A top timber rail can be added for additional strength and aesthetics and the post tops can be nicely shaped.

Be it in a rural or semi rural area, The Fence Barn has the experience and the materials to erect a post and wire strand fence.

Koppers Logs

Koppers logs come from sustainable plantation pine and are treated to last many years, usually longer than it took to grow in the first place.

Koppers logs are extremely versatile and can used for many purposes on residential properties, commercial properties, rural properties and public spaces. They are easy to manage, cut, fasten and paint, making them very popular with commercial operators and "Do-It-Yourselfers".

Koppers logs are often used for garden edges, cubby houses, sand pits, and fence construction. In public spaces they are used to limit vehicular access to parks and playgrounds. With a variety of purpose manufactured fasteners and standard fasteners available, Kopper logs are easy to use for a multitude of applications- you are only limited by your imagination.

Sizes from 100mm up to 150mm diameter in lengths from 1.8 to 6m are available.
Other sizes and lengths can be supplied to order.
